Tenshi no Shippo Chu! Extras

OK, here are the extras.

Tenshi no Utagoe ("The Angel's Singing Voice") with 12 songs for 12 guardian angels, NCOP, and NCED come from the DVDs.

Omakes are not available on DVDs, so I cut them from A-Flux hardsubs.

UPDATE: The content of these omakes is included as part of DVD specials for the first season. So if you have R1 DVDs or E-D or A-T rip, you already have these omakes and don't need the hardsub extracts. Thanks to DmonHiro for pointing this out.

Tenshi no Shippo Chu! 01-03/11

OK, here is the DVD rerelease of this old show from 2003. Note that TV-episodes for this show contained two stories per one 24-min episode. DVD-episodes are arranged a bit differently and contain three stories per one 36-min episode. The stories are unchanged.

Screen comparison with A-Flux hardsub

BTW, does anyone, by any chance, has raws for TV-episode 4 of this show? TV-episodes 3 and 4 included omakes which were never released on DVDs. I have the raw for TV-episode 3 (with the first omake), but not for TV-episode 4. If I can't find the TV-raw I'll have to cut-and-remux those omakes from the A-Flux hardsubs.

Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito 01-13/13

OK, the time has come to upgrade this nice series (AniDB).

Video: x264 712x476 4:3 23.976fps CRF13 (1107-1584kbps)
Audio: Japanese 2.0 Stereo FLAC

Three subtitle tracks:
Subtitle track #1 - translation by Shinsen-Subs.
Subtitle track #2 - translation by Shounen-Ai.
Subtitle track #3 - translation by Miyuki Fansubs.

The subs were OCRed using VideoSubFinder, which produced surprisingly good results for all three hardsubs. The only editing I did (except of fixing OCR errors) is changing Hadzuki (SHS)/Hatzuki (S-Ai)/Hatsuki (M-F) into Hazuki, because this romanization is displayed in the show itself:

Just for fun, I used different fonts for the main dialogue in 3 subtitle tracks, similar to what was used in the original hardsubs (SHS -> Nyala, S-Ai -> ITC Korinna, M-F -> Teen). The colors, however, are all set to white with black outlines.

Some notes about translations:

Shinsen-Subs - liberal English translation, no honorifics, "Onee-chan" becomes "Sis" and so on. This is the default track.

Shounen-Ai - if you want honorifics or don't like Nyala font, watch this track. Translation is more or less similar to SHS track.

Miyuki Fansubs - quite a lot of lines are translated differently. Since it's not very likely that both SHS and S-Ai translators consistently made similar errors, this track is probably less accurate.

Some funny demonstrations:

SHS: Love is something that makes the pain stop.
S-Ai: Love makes pain go away.
M-F: Love is something that you'd get hurt about.

SHS: So don't bother fixing it.
S-Ai: So just leave it.
M-F: Very well, then. Go ahead and fix it.

SHS: Come right home, OK?
S-Ai: Come home right after school, okay?
M-F: We'll party until it's night time!

etc etc.

The video is unfiltered. Since SHS release was also based on DVD source, the difference in video quality is not as great as in case of TV-rip -> DVD-rip upgrades, but still it is better. Additionaly, this re-release has a benefit of being 100% softsubbed, features lossless audio and includes complete archive of fansub translations.

Here's screen comparison with SHS hardsub.

Futakoi 03-04/13

Argh, that was a busy week, with little time left for anime. Besides, I'm leaving on a business trip until May 15, and I'm not sure about my schedule after that. That means the next release won't happen until the second half of May. Anyway, enjoy the next two episodes!

Futakoi 01-02/13

Video: x264 712x476 4:3 23.976fps 1186-1450kbps (crf 14)
Audio: Japanese AC3 2.0 448kbps
Two subtitle tracks:
1. English translation by Ishin (.ass)
2. English translation by AnimeYuki (.ass)

If you're going to watch this, use default subtitles (Ishin), because they are better. AnY track is included for the sake of completeness.

The video comes from R2J DVDs. Their video quality is not ideal (one can notice some halos, aliasing, etc), but they still look much better than TV rips. After some experimentation I decided to go the easy route again and not apply any filtering (except of IVTC).

D.C.S.S. Da Capo Second Season omake 6

Here is the sixth Da Capo omake, never available in English before!

As usual, all credits for the translation go to Zalis / ReDone Subs.

Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge 13/13

Among the extras, there are live-action performances of some songs from the anime (I almost forgot about them).

Besides this, the DVDs include full-length audio commentary tracks for all episodes. But they're in Japanese and I doubt anyone is willing to translate them. So if you understand Japanese and want the commentary, buy the DVDs :-P

Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge 11/13 + 01-05v2 + NCOP1/NCOP2/NCED

Hokuke -> Hokke
Yuko -> Yoku
Useki -> Seki
Nyaino -> Nyaeno
Mariam -> Marinyan

Everything else (video, etc) is the same.

D.C.S.S. Da Capo Second Season omake 5

Here is the fifth Da Capo omake, translated by Zalis / ReDone Subs.

Similar to omake 2, this one is in WMV9 format. Video quality is worse than of omake 2, but there is no DVD or better raws available, so that's it.

Akahori Gedou Hour Rabuge 09/13

Note: Sometime before episode 13, I might make patches for the first 5 episodes to correct some names, such as Akunoko -> Akumako.

Final Approach 01/13

This is a softsubbed DVD-based re-release of a nice show from 2004.

Video: x264 720x480 4:3 23.976fps 1432-1897kbps (crf 15)
Audio: Japanese AC3 2.0 384kbps
Two subtitle tracks:
1. English translation by Froth-Bite (.ass)
2. English translation by Static Subs (.ass)
DVD exclusive scenes are translated by Zalis / ReDone Subs.

The DVD version contains 0.5 - 1 minutes of new scenes in every episode, plus 1-minute-long next episode previews not present in TV rips.

If you still want screen comparison: vs Froth-Bite, vs Static-Subs.

D.C.S.S. Da Capo Second Season omake 2

This is the second Da Capo omake, never available in English before!

All credits for the translation go to Zalis of ReDone Subs.

Since I don't have DVDISOs for the 2nd (and 5th) omakes, I'll have to use WMV9 raws for them. I won't transcode these raws, they'll be released as WMV9 inside matroska. So, if you have problems playing it - find DVDISO for me and then I'll do an x264 release :) But I tested this omake under Windows (using MPC-HC and VLC), Linux (using mplayer), and MacOS Snow Leopard (using mplayer extended), and all these systems play it just fine.

D.C.S.S. Da Capo Second Season 01/26

Here it is, the continuation of Da Capo.

Video: x264 712x480 16:9 VFR 1191-1746 kbit/s (crf 13)
Audio: Japanese 2.0 AC3 192 kbit/s (untouched)
Subtitles: English styled softsubs, translation by Shinsen-Subs.

Screen comparison with Shinsen-Subs TV rip (note about snapshot #4: those are exact frames, it seems some parts were redrawn in the DVD release)

Extras from the DVDs, which will be released later: 3 creditless endings and 1 opening. There are also 7 omakes w/o translation - they might eventually be translated by Zalis if he gets into the right mood. So bug him if you want them.
