Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito 01-13/13

OK, the time has come to upgrade this nice series (AniDB).

Video: x264 712x476 4:3 23.976fps CRF13 (1107-1584kbps)
Audio: Japanese 2.0 Stereo FLAC

Three subtitle tracks:
Subtitle track #1 - translation by Shinsen-Subs.
Subtitle track #2 - translation by Shounen-Ai.
Subtitle track #3 - translation by Miyuki Fansubs.

The subs were OCRed using VideoSubFinder, which produced surprisingly good results for all three hardsubs. The only editing I did (except of fixing OCR errors) is changing Hadzuki (SHS)/Hatzuki (S-Ai)/Hatsuki (M-F) into Hazuki, because this romanization is displayed in the show itself:

Just for fun, I used different fonts for the main dialogue in 3 subtitle tracks, similar to what was used in the original hardsubs (SHS -> Nyala, S-Ai -> ITC Korinna, M-F -> Teen). The colors, however, are all set to white with black outlines.

Some notes about translations:

Shinsen-Subs - liberal English translation, no honorifics, "Onee-chan" becomes "Sis" and so on. This is the default track.

Shounen-Ai - if you want honorifics or don't like Nyala font, watch this track. Translation is more or less similar to SHS track.

Miyuki Fansubs - quite a lot of lines are translated differently. Since it's not very likely that both SHS and S-Ai translators consistently made similar errors, this track is probably less accurate.

Some funny demonstrations:

SHS: Love is something that makes the pain stop.
S-Ai: Love makes pain go away.
M-F: Love is something that you'd get hurt about.

SHS: So don't bother fixing it.
S-Ai: So just leave it.
M-F: Very well, then. Go ahead and fix it.

SHS: Come right home, OK?
S-Ai: Come home right after school, okay?
M-F: We'll party until it's night time!

etc etc.

The video is unfiltered. Since SHS release was also based on DVD source, the difference in video quality is not as great as in case of TV-rip -> DVD-rip upgrades, but still it is better. Additionaly, this re-release has a benefit of being 100% softsubbed, features lossless audio and includes complete archive of fansub translations.

Here's screen comparison with SHS hardsub.
