D.C. Da Capo 15/26

Note that DVD version of episode 15 contains a side episode, so don't miss it. In the TV version, this side episode was attached to episode 16.

D.C. Da Capo 14/26

One more episode of Da Capo, while I'm struggling with Futakoi Alternative ep09 signs.

D.C. Da Capo 13/26

OK, half of the first season is done! I've also added more shows to the future release plan, some of them were requested earlier.

Now, something to help you decide which subtitle track you want to watch.

Miharu: (looks at something on her monitor) What is this? (clicks the banner) I fell for it again. I always click these ads. I wonder why I fall for them so many times.
Voice from TV: That's because you're an amateur.
Miharu: (switches TV off) Gosh, that was so rude!

Futakoi Alternative update

I'm not quite dead yet! Though a bit busy lately. Anyway ->

Short story:
Futakoi Alternative will soon be continued using a new encode from DVDISO source. There'll be v2 for episodes 1-5.

Long story:
The reason for the new encode is the framerate. The video quality of the raws I used was good, the only problem was that they had 29.97 fps and the frames went like "12344567889" (every 5th frame is a duplicate). This caused a little strobe effect during movement, most noticeable in scenes with moving signs.

The purpose of the new rip is to fix this. Most episodes can be completely decimated to 23.976 fps; some episodes have progressive sequences and so they will be done as VFR. Otherwise, the new rip should have similar video quality as the old one (screen comparison to make sure). The video is unfiltered.

I also bumped the video resolution to 712x476 (screw mod16), removed some interlacing artifacts in episode 1, included the untouched AC3 audio, used x264 crf 13 which gave an average video bitrate of 1464 kb/s, and included k-timing from Zalis starting from the first episode.

Big thanks to uboa for providing the DVDISOs.

New specs:
Video: x264 712x476 4:3 23.976 fps 1218-1859 kb/s (crf 13)
Audio: AC3 2.0 192kb/s
Subtitles: English styled softsubs (translation by AnimeYuki)

Screen comparison with AnimeYuki TV rip

Changing the frame rate destroyed my scenetiming, and Aegisub resolution resampling damaged sign positioning, so I now need some time to fix the subs for episodes 1-5. Episode 6 is already done. Expect the new release before the end of this week.

And yeah... sorry for v2s. I don't like them too. But this show deserves it.

D.C. Da Capo 10/26

The amount of signs in this episode almost makes me feel like I'm doing another Futakoi Alternative episode.

Anyway, 10 is a good number to take a short break. I'll be busy with some other work starting tomorrow, so there will no more releases from me for some time.

D.C. Da Capo 08/26

More interlaced sequences in this episode. I think I treated all of them. (Sometimes they are not easy to see, for example when the only moving part is someone's mouth.)

Since I stumbled upon a different ending in this episode, I decided to use it to learn some k-timing. I kind of succeeded, however now the question is, how do I get the damn song out of my head?!? Anyway, the next episode will feature the standard ending again, which is conveniently k-timed by Zalis (thanks again, hehe!)

This is kind of a recap episode, but don't miss the side episode. Note that in the DVD version the side episodes start after the main episode ending, not before the ending like in the TV rip. All episodes from 8 till 20 feature side episodes after the ending.

D.C. Da Capo 06/26

A beach episode yielded some encoder's surprises. While other episodes are progressive, this one strangely had four interlaced sequences which I spotted during the test view. So I had to re-encode it to de-interlace them. It is also the largest file among all 26 episodes.

Futakoi Alternative 03/13

Gothiloli Twins! Beware!

This is Nikopaku Rhapsody, episode number 3 in the DVD order. It is episode number 4 in the broadcast order, but I'm releasing the DVD version of the show in the DVD order, otherwise the next episode previews won't match.

As always, thank Zalis / ReDone Subs for the OP/ED karaoke that is featured starting from this episode.
