Screen comparison between honobono/AonE hardsub and this re-release. The original honobono/AonE hardsub was a mixture of TV-rips and DVD-rips. In the screen comparison, the first four screens compare against the TV-rips and the last four screens compare the DVD-based episodes.
Video comes from R2J DVDs and is unfiltered. The subtitles were OCRed from the hardsubs.
Momomiya Ichigo -> Mew Strawberry* / Attacks: Reborn (not Ribbon) Strawberry Surprise/Check, Strawberbell
Aizawa Minto - > Mew Mint / Attacks: Mintonarrow
Midorikawa Retasu -> Mew Lettuce / Attacks: Lettastanets
Huang Bu-Ling - > Mew Pudding / Attacks: PuddingRings
Fujiwara Zakuro -> Mew Pomegranate* / Attacks: Pomegran' Spear
Villains: Quiche, Pie, Tart (not Kish, Pai, and Tart)
Chimera Animal -> Chimera Anima
METAMORPHO-SIS! -> METAMORPHO-SE!
* I imagine some of the fanbase may take issue with these names being translated, but it doesn't make sense to translate some of the "Mew
This release uses ordered chapters. As much as I don't like them, here they save 4Gb of space. The linked files should be located in the same directory in order to be played back correctly:
NCOP, NCED -> linked to all episodes
Intro1 -> linked to episodes 1-11
Intro2 -> linked to episodes 12-41
Intro3 -> linked to episodes 42-52
Very disappointed by your choice to using ordered chapters for this release.
ReplyDeleteBut, thanks anyway.
This release is far better than the other one, judging from the screenshots.
By the way, i don't mind an extra 4GB in my HD.
If you don't mind extra 4GB, you can quite easily merge the ordered chapters. For this you'll need mkvtoolnix and ChapterUnorderer - a small program that scans the files and creates merging script.
DeleteI know that this procedure does not always work well because it is not always possible to split mkvs at exact positions, but for this particular release, it will work fine.
The drawback is that the resulting mkvs won't have chapters at all.
It's not the size that's the problem. The problem is that you mutilated an innocent anime by replacing OP/ED with no credits versions.
DeleteI guess you do it so you can feel like you are "participating" in creating an anime, right?
Hey, rds, I remember you. You're the same *** that came to bitch on my blog and AnimeSuki when I prosed using NC version for everything. And guess what? People STILL don't care about your opinion. Most of fansub watchers CAN'T read the credits, so why should they care? And if you CAN read them, why are you downloading fansubs? Go download the raws.
DeleteHey, DmonHiro, I remember you. You are still the same *** that loves to erase original anime creators' credits while leaving your name (in the name of the file - no less).
DeleteYou probably hope that viewers would think the anime was created by you.
Get over it: most people don't care about the credits.
DeleteThe anime creators DO care about credits.
DeleteIf you claim that you love anime - please show a little respect to people who create it.
"mutilated an innocent anime"
Delete"You probably hope that viewers would think the anime was created by you."
Not sure if trolling.. or just stupid.
I agree with RDS. You should always, always aim for releasing intact material.
DeleteOn another note, GEEZ people, nobody is seeding like a bawss?!
dude you should translate the credit
Deleteit's the least we can do to appreciate the creator
Well this came out of the blue. Hell yeah, thanks man. I always love this show, even though I was first introduced to it by the English dub... which sucked monkey butts through a straw. And thanks for ordered chapters. OP+ED let's say about 100 MB. For 52 episodes, that's 5 GB saved. You ROCK!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! An unexpected treat. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for all the considerable work that you've done. I, like DmonHiro, also saw this first with English dub and Romanian subtitles, but I was been hoping for a good release with accurate subtitles which now I.ve found.
ReplyDeleteDude, you too? Nice to see another Animax victim. Mew Mew Style.... Oh god just shoot me.
DeleteQuality, softsubbed, ordered chapters, no timestamps, no broadcast text... many thanks for this!! I watched TMM ~7 years ago and still have those crappy TV encodes.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot =]
ReplyDeleteAnd where I find the download links?
ReplyDeleteOn the releases page.

ReplyDeletePomegrante... really? Was that necessary?
Heh. The post updated with the list of changes, to avoid more surprises :)
DeleteSorry, I meant why the Japanese named her like that, not why you translated. It DOES mean that.... but WHY?
Delete@rds: if you really care about the anime creators' feelings, why are you illegally downloading their work in the first place?
ReplyDeleteRe: Pomegranate -- "Blame" me for that suggestion, as I didn't think it made sense to randomly translate some Mew Mew names and not others. But I guess that's just my same radicalism that believes fruit-based titles like "Ichigo 100%" and "Ichigo Mashimaro" are translatable.
No, not what I meant. I mean, why the hell did Japan do that? It's only when reading it in English that you realize how silly it is. I mean, REALLY? Does that even make sense? She's a WOLF.
Delete@zalis - sore wa sore, kore wa kore. Don't change subject. Lame!
Deletebut once you mentioned it - the current copyright regime itself is illegal because it's based on paid-for statutes, not on common law and/or cultural tradition.
It's like if you happen to live under communists/fascists - would you consider it illegal to break their inhuman "laws"?
Or, maybe again, you would...
PS. it's too big a subject to discuss it here. Dixi.
thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHi, not download torrents for anime D.C.S.S. Da Capo Second Season . Fix it? Thank
ReplyDeleteHi is their any way i can just get the sub by them self i own the original dvd & wold like to save time space
ReplyDeleteI'll upload this with permission. Whatcha say, kaishakunin?
DeleteBe aware that even if you do get the subtitle files from these files, they won't work "as-is" with the DVDs or raws. Since this release uses ordered chapters with segment linking for OP/ED/Intro, the times in the scripts are based on files that run the main episode followed by the preview. So you will have to use Aegisub's timeshift function to shift everything after the OP roughly 1 min 30 sec, and then shift the preview an additional 01:30. And then insert the OP/ED subs at the appropriate times.
DeleteBut if you're looking for subs for Da Capo Second Season, check kitsunekko.net.
I've uploaded the subs to kitsunekko:
Deletehttp://kitsunekko.net/subtitles/Tokyo%20Mew%20Mew/
The zip file also includes the scripts without ordered chapters, which I got by running ChapterUnorderer and then extracting the subs from the resulting files.
Note however, that in my release Intro2 is extended by 20 frames to avoid sound clash between Intro2 and the OP at the chapter switch. So if you want to use my subs with your own raws, you'll have to shift everything after the intro in episodes 12-41 by ~667ms backwards, otherwise the subs will start too late and you'll have a lot of scene bleeds and otherwise broken scenetiming.
Also note that if you want to use the DVDs from ADC (and maybe other places in the Internet), they have some corruptions here and there which look like this:
http://tinyurl.com/7h5k5xs
Original retail DVDs which I used for this release don't have such corruptions.
kaishakunin ty for replying to my post & uploading the subs i own the retail DVDs vol 1-5 still looking for the rest x3 keep up the good work
DeleteActually, Zakuro's attack is a pun on her name and the word Cross. So her weapon is ZaCross Whip attack name is ZaCross Pure. Spear was a fansub mistake in the first place.
ReplyDeleteAlso, despite there being some proof, Reborn is only fan speculation. Even the new English translated manga by Kodansha USA translates it as Ribbon. No known manga translations (even ones in Asia) ever used Reborn. I also think it'd be best to separate the words (ex: StrawBell Bell, MintTone Arrow, Lettustanets and PudRing Rign) to make it less cluttered.
Been thinking about the Mew names, and I must disagree. IMO translated names should not be so different from what's actually heard. Mint, Lettuce, and Pudding are fine because "Retasu" and "Bu-Ling" would be ridiculously weeaboo. But, Strawberry and Pomegranate are pretty far off from Ichigo and Zakuro.
ReplyDeleteThen again I'm just used to the names that way.
Is there any new project?
ReplyDeleteCurrent plans:
Delete- Kagihime (w/subs edited by Zalis)
